How to Shop When Shopping For Newborn Baby Clothes

Shopping is always fun and it is even more fun when you are shopping for baby clothes.  The sweet, adorable little booties, socks, hats, and clothes can take you into a whole new world and this passion is often transformed into an obsession when you are shopping for girls clothes.  Pink, purple, lilac, they are all so pretty.  To show how fun shopping for girls clothing is, when I was shopping for my son when I was pregnant, I found myself buying little pink onesis for a friend who was also pregnant.

Shopping for baby clothes is addicting but we must learn to control our impulses.  Going overboard means spending much more money than needed and by the way, half the clothes for kids you buy now if you are pregnant, they won’t wear.  When shopping for clothes for your precious little bundle, only buy the essentials because as they grow, you will be cleaning out their draws and closets, giving half the things away before they even wear them.

Yes, it is hard but when shopping for baby clothes, buy only the essentials and if you want to over indulge, spend extra money on diapers, not newborns though; bottles, wipes, and other little essentials that they could never get enough of; things that they will never outgrow.  If you currently have a bun in the oven and want to know what to shop for, you are not alone and that is why I created a brief idea of things you must have when shopping for baby clothes.

Things you must have for your newborn babe

Socks, tops, onseis, rompers, if you are having a winter baby, mittens (these are also important in the summer because babies tend to scratch themselves); hats are a must; jackets, no more than two 0-3 months because they will outgrow them like that.  Other necessities that you must get includes, diaper cream, diapers, lots of them; oils, powders, soaps, and lotions, although it is not recommended that you use it on them until they are at least one month.

Now that you have an idea of the things needed for a newborn baby, when shopping for baby clothes, I strongly suggest that you do not go cheap.  A baby’s skin is very delicate and if you put certain fabrics on them, they will rash and chafe very easily. Stick with clothes for kids that are made from cotton and never buy clothes that have strong dyes in them.  This is because they wear easily and in one wash they will begin looking old and too worn.  The dyes in baby clothes will also irritate their delicate skin very easily as well.

If you are a savvy shopper and are shopping on a budget but would like for your baby to wear brand name clothing such as Oshkosh, Gold Rush, J Brand, and ella moss, buy their clothing one or two sizes larger.  Take this for example; my son is four months old now but he is big for his age so he is wear 6-9 months clothing, instead of buying 6-9months, I go out and get 9months or even 12 month old clothing.

Yes, I know you may be saying that these clothes are too big but trust me they aren’t.  I have a 1T shirt for my son that cannot fit him because it is too small.  What you need to do however, is be careful of the sizes that you buy because some brands size their clothes smaller than others.

Now that you have been briefed on shopping for your little ones, go out and spend some money but remember not to overdo it.

Shopping for Designer Children’s Clothing in The 21st Century

Children are children and they should do what their parents say and wear just what they are given, right?  While this is how it should be and exactly how it was when I was a child, this is not so today and children have their own fashion sense and they expect to be in the latest designer children’s clothing.  However, when you are the one spending the money, putting your little one in designer children’s clothing is not always easy and this makes shopping for toddler clothing more of a task than you would like.

So, how do you shop for toddler clothing that will make both you and your little one happy?

The best way to shop when shopping on a budget is to buy when stores are having sales.  Never buy designer children’s clothing when they first hit the shelves, unless you can afford it and won’t feel the burn in the end.  Keep in mind when you are buying toddler clothing that your children will outgrow them in  no time; therefore, it is wise to shop wisely because the wiser you are when shopping for toddlers the more you will get and the more you will be able to save.

Next to shopping on sale, think about shopping online

While shopping on sale is wise, buying toddler clothing online is the best way to dress your little angel in style and keep your pockets full.  When you shop online, you will notice that the items sold on the internet tend to be much more affordable than those sold in the stores.  This is so because online stores do not need to pay rent for storage space and they are also able to cut the cost on a number of other things as well.  Shopping online for toddler clothing is indeed one of the wisest ways to go and the way modern women shop but if you are looking for a way to save more money, wait until these online stores are having sales.  Shopping for designer children’s clothing online when there is a sale will save you much more than if you were to buy the same item from a store that is having a sale.

Another way to shop for toddler clothing in the 21st century is to use coupons

When shopping online, many shoppers have found that using coupon codes to shop is a much more affordable option.  While some people may believe that there are no coupons available for designer children’s clothing, you will be surprised at what you can find on the internet.  If you have never used coupons to shop online before, all you will need to do is get the coupon code online and use it when prompted, when checking out your items.

Both you and your children want and love to look good and as such, shopping for designer children’s clothing is a good way to say to the world that you are stylish.  Gone are the days when only the rich and the famous could adorn their little ones in designer clothes.  Living in the 21st century, everyone can look good and wear clothes that are designed with the rich and famous in mind.

Help your little one shine.  Do not stop their personal fashion style from coming through because you cannot afford what they want to wear. Shop wisely and buy designer children’s clothing at a reduced cost.

Buying Trendy Kids Clothes While On a Budget

It is no secret that most people throughout the world have been experiencing financial problems that have been brought on by the global recession.  If you find that you have been living on a budget for some time now and have been thinking to stop shopping for Trendy Kids Clothes and is considering to go the cheap route, I am telling you that you can still keep your trendy kids trendy if you know how to shop for designer kids clothing when on a budget.  It is a known fact that when you are buying clothes for growing kids that you will need to always buy them one size bigger.  When you buy kids clothing a size bigger, it will, naturally, last your child a little longer.

Think Chic, Not Cheap Next to buying your kids clothing a size or two larger, you need to think chic, instead of cheap.  This is where most parents go wrong.  We all want our kids to look the best in what they are wearing and we want them to have all the clothes in the world; however, if you are suffering from a financial crisis, you know that this is not possible and while you may have to limit the amount of clothing that your children have, you do not need to cut back on quality and you can still buy trendy Kids Clothing.  When you are shopping for toddler clothing and other kids clothing in general, you need to know how to shop and once you know how to shop, you can have your children wearing the trendiest clothes on the market.

When it comes to thinking chic instead of cheap, you need to look at the styles of the clothing.  Being a fashionable individual yourself, you know what your little one likes and you know how to make them look good. Stick to buying regular children’s clothing such as jeans, dresses, skirts, and tank tops; however, to keep your child trendy and looking at her best, ensure that you purchase a few scarves, jackets, belts, and leggings to accessorize.

Your little Miss just may need some handbags, fashion jewelry, and of course some really cute shoes to bring off their trendy look.  If you are going to keep your children in trendy kids clothes while on a budget, you will need to cut back on the amount of clothes that you buy for them instead of the quality of clothing that you make them wear.  Shopping for name brand clothing is a good way to keep your child trendy while on a budget because when you buy name brand clothes, you know that you are buying clothes made from some of the best materials and that they are also sewn with the best care.

Getting brand name clothing for your children will prevent you from buying clothing too often because they will last longer and fit your children better.  Shopping for trendy kids clothes does not have to empty your wallet and when you buy less pieces of clothing that are made from the best quality; you will be able to keep your little Miss and Mr. in style.

The Three Stages of Newborn Clothing

When I learnt that I was expecting a new bundle of joy, I wasn’t all that excited like most first time moms; however, once I got used to the idea of having a precious little one to share my life with, I went crazy with shopping and bought all the cute, cuddly newborn clothing that I could get my hands on.  However, when my mom saw the shopping that I had done, I quickly learnt the error of my ways and after learning that my little man was bigger than the average baby, I started wondering what I was going to do with all the little clothing that I had bought and then I began to shop wisely.  After going from store to store, I learnt that newborns and newborn clothing came in three stages.  These three stages are Preemie, the average newborn, who weighs roughly 7lbs and the really big ones, weighing in anywhere from 8 ½ to 11lbs, imagine pushing out an 11lbs baby but that is a store for another time.

While most newborn clothing is worn by children 0-3 months, if you shop and buy only 0-3 months clothing, you will find that you are doing a lot more spending than you had originally budgeted for.  So how do you really shop when you are buying clothing for your newborn?  It is simple, you shop for the three different stages of newborn some would say but what I recommend is that you buy a few pieces of 0-3 months clothing and leave the bulk of the shopping for after the baby is born.  Never buy premature clothing because it really makes no sense.  If your baby is premature, let them wear the newborn clothing just the same.  Yes, they may hang off a bit but in time, they will full them out and the good thing is that, they will last much longer.

When you are shopping for newborn clothing or kids clothing in general, remember the golden rule, never go cheap and never buy clothing that has dye in it because the dye will washout eventually and it will irritate some kids skin.  You will never know if it will cause a reaction to your child; therefore, it is better you never find out.

Why should you stay away from cheap clothing?

The major problem associated with putting your newborn baby in cheap clothing, other than the fact that they will be ruined within a few washes, is that the material that is used to make these clothing will affect your babies skin.  No matter how you wash them before your baby wears them, the cheap fabric that these clothes tend to be made from will irritate your new baby’s skin and sometimes cause rashes, and pumps to appear.  While I am not encouraging you to go and spend $200 on onesies, I am telling you to make an investment in the clothes that your children wear and go with brands that make quality clothes such as: Gerber, Granimals, and Carter’s.

The older your children get, the more you will want to spend less on clothing but do not cut on quality for quantity, shop wisely and you will see that you can invest a little into your kids clothing and still buy top brands and clothes that are of the best quality.
